Worlds of Fun is a theme park in Kansas City, Missouri, and in
1985 they added a Rainbow Brite Kids Musical to their park! It was part of the Aerodrome section of the park, later renamed to the more kid-friendly Pandamonium in 1987. This park map from 1987 shows that the Rainbow Brite musical (located in the Rainbow Pavilion!) ran for at least 2 years:
Sadly, I have been unable to find any video or audio recordings of the musical, but thanks to Hallmark and some awesome fans on Instagram, I do have a few photos!
Did you see the Rainbow Brite musical back in the 80's, or were you one of the performers? I'd love to hear your memories of the show and see any photos or video you might have :)

Funny enough you are crediting my website www.worldsoffun.org and this IS one of the things I remember growing up! I went and saw Shirt Tales back in 83 and I think Rainbow Brite in 85.
I saw this back in the 80's at Worlds of Fun, I think I saw it in 85 or 86?
That's so cool Jennifer!! :D
This is awesome , I have some great pics for you , I actually sang in the show in 1987. It was the best "first job" Ever!! I will never forget that great summer. We did 6 or 7 shows a day with one day off per week!!! LOVED IT!!!
Oh my goodness!! How cool!! I can't wait to see your photos :D That sounds like such an amazing experience. Do you remember any of the songs? :)
I escorted Shirt Tale characters around the park, then I was Pammy Panda who walked around the park. I then got to be Digger Mole in the Shirt Tale Show. When they changed the Show to the Rainbow Brite Show, I got to be Rainbow Brite. My husband and I met when we worked there and have been married 34 years. He has a Rainbow Brite tattoo on his shoulder. I am the Rainbow Brite in your second show photo. Photos on my Facebook to follow.
I have about 10 photos available but don’t seem to be able to share them. :(
I’m still friends with one of the “Rainbow Ladies” she still remembers the lyrics to the songs!!! 🌈
Aspergermom1993 - that is SO COOL!!! Look me up on Facebook - Katy Cartee Haile. Hopefully, you can send me a direct message through there :)
